OK, update. I had about convinced myself that a regular F150 with a 5.4L 3.55 LS, super cab would fit my needs fine and found a good deal on a 99 demo. My main reason for giving up on the 7700 was the $1500 additonal cost for payload increase and not "towing" increase was not in my need area. And it did not have the 4R100 tranny anyway. As I said before I had been looking for a XLT trim F250 SC SD to try. Well I found one today! It is a 5.4L 3.73 white Super cab, captains chairs power locks/windows with towing package nd class VI hitch. I was dubious of the 5.4L in a SC F250. They want 26K. My first impression is favorable. Very peppy. Course I am used to a 4.6L in a F150 SC 4X4 but I am impressed. I have been driving many 5.4L F150 SC in the last week or so so i was astounded to get close to the same acceleration and pep out of it in the F250! I have it on loan for the weekend and am going to hook the camper up tommorrow and try it. Wife is pissed as it is about $1600 more than the 99 demo deal but it is so much more TRUCK. If she starts speaking to me again tommorrow I might be able too do it. Will keep you posted.

ps That 99 truck sounds like a great deal if you weren't all the way up in Minot. Are you Air Force?

No, I'm not Air Force, but there is a base here. Sounds like that truck is similar to mine. Ever been to Minot? I think my truck would be just perfect for you. How about I pay for the plane ticket? Might just work out.

Doobie,

Contact me offline with the details of your truck. I have a friend that is looking for a truck like this. We are in the Minneapolis area, so the drive is not outrageous.

I think you will enjoy the SuperDuty. Good choice in my estimation.

Well, its not for everyone but it works for me. Everyone has special needs and wants so it is good that there is a truck for all in the selection. I just wish they would put the 4R100 tranny in the 7700. That would be sweet!

Wink

How about the 4R100 tranny AND the V-10 in a sport version of the 7700?

No! Don't say that! That would be too sweet. They will surely announce they are coming out with one next week with my luck.
