I would rather the insides of my tips be black, so I never bother to clean inside.

I don't really care

The tip has but one job, to get the exhaust out, I could care less what it looks like.

The tailpipe(s) guide the exhaust gases out. The tip(s) give the truck a shiny appeal and help aid in projecting the sound

They are much much more than just a way to get the exhaust out =0

That's like saying your truck should not look good because it just gets you from A to B

Why spend the money if you aren't going to take care of it is what I always say.

I had Borla Stingers on my old GT and I just about cleaned them off once a day. Especially when I got my catless x-pipe and they would get a nice coat of soot on the rolled edge haha.

Some goes on my old Mazda 6, had a Magnaflow muffler on it with a SS Vibrant tip and polished it quite often as well. All I used though was the cheap Blue Magic polish from Auto Zone with an old terry cloth. Actually did a good job for a $5 product.
