Personally, I think having a shop do a custom build for you turns out even better and it is FAR cheaper.
Good info, thanks.

Kits are a good choice if you MUST have a certain type of stainless or mandrel bends, but some shops do mandrel bending with stainless (409 and 304) as well, so you just have more options.

Just be sure and research the shop and type of work they do.

See this thread. My friend and I put together a borla cat back for 300 installed with tip and it sounds great. Remove the resonator if you want good sound. Didn't use stainless.

I personally feel the 2011+ are still louder, stock for stock, even with the resonator. Not the Ecoboost of coarse. But the 5.0L is heard stock even with the resonator in place.

Your 2005 does not have any resonators in the exhaust system. That is why I never originally mentioned anything of a resonator.

Sorry, I Missed the first part of the post about his being a 2005, I thought his was the same year as in the video. Yeah, the 5.0 does sound good and when you let off the throttle going down hill and it idles back down you can hear what sounds like to me a cam lope sound. I hear it with my borla s-type and no resonator. Sounds really good when the idle bottoms out.
