MBRP v. Magnaflow

Has anyone run both MBRP and Magnaflow? Any preference or specific pros and cons? I like the growl and low tone (I have heard tone is lower than Flowmaster and Gibson) of the Magnapacks however I have heard that the vibrations can get to you after a while if it your everyday truck. Local shop recommended MBRP over Magnaflow.

I prefer the tone of Magnaflow personally over the MBRP kit. I only like the MBRP exhaust on a Powerstroke Diesel.

I've run both but the MBRP kit was changed for the '09s and up. Don't know what you have though. Kit was 3.5" midpipe for my '08. Now it's 3". MBRP sounds good. Quiet at cruise. Hard to compare a Magnapack vs the MBRP muffler though. Check out my signature for vids.

Have the 3.5" Catback SISO MBRP on mine, sounds amazing! I say go for the MBRP! I have heard the Magnaflow before...Its not loud enough. MBRP for the win!

Can't always tell from vids, but I think my Magnapacks are louder...? Might be cause I did go with high flows. Maybe it's not though. Doesn't MBRP specialize in diesel trucks? At one point I looked at them and Banks, and then realized I have spark plugs

They started out as diesel specialists, but now they do gas, snowmobiles, and motorcycles! I love their products and their support! I even thought bout putting their murdered out series exhaust on my 08 gxsr...but have no monies :o

I have an 07 5.4 with MBRP XP series catback SS exhaust and love it! I feel like it sounds better each time I start up. I like being able to hear my exhaust so if there is any drone it doesnt really bother me that much! I have had loads of compliments on the exhaust and after gettin it for my 07 it convinced my dad to get it for his '10 with a 5.4. Its good quality exhaust that comes with a lifetime warranty. Plus I think i got mine for half the price of a dual catback set up for Magnaflow.

That's awesome man, glad you enjoy it. As a side note, and just kinda wondering, what did it cost you? Most cat back "kits" are what, $3-$400 for single all stainless? Did the kit come with high flow cats and an x-pipe? or is it single after the factory y? I definitely paid a bit for mine, $800 for parts and labor (which is obviously a custom installation), but it's high flows, x pipe, 2 magnapacks, 2 double wall tips, and all stainless piping. Not ******* at all on kits, just trying to see if it is more cost effective to have a true dual custom exhaust installed (which is of course going to cost more than a kit) or if a kit is more reasonable to purchase and then add high flows and an x or h.

You are running true duals, and i am jealous of that!!! Mine was $400 shipped from autoanything.com and all it is piping, si/do muffler, and 3x14 tips. No xpipe or hi flow cats. I thought bout buying some hi flows to change the sound but if im going to do that im goin to do it right and do a full true dual set up. Are you running 2.5 in piping too?? i would love to true duals eventually but when i got the kit in january it was all i could afford. I did all the work myself cause its basically bolt on besides the cutting of one pipe, which is nothing. As for reasonable, I think it all depends on your funds and how loud you want your exhaust? I want true duals because i think it would be louder but I cant justify spending more money right now.
