I don't know, it looked to only have 1 cat in it which was after the Y pipe. I don't know exactly how it was OEM

Resurrection

Digging up this old thread to report back on my Super 10 flow results. When I was deployed my fiance had my exhaust redone since the first job was butchered. Turns out THIS guy charged her for a flowmaster, but installed some knockoff (drone was awful). So, after much research...I went with a super 10.

Louder outside, better quality sound, and less drone. And dare I say...It has more pep (Yeayeayea, I know maggies are generally accepted as superior for performance ). My fiance thought so too...makes sense considering the single chamber has less baffles.

I have 2 cats. Waiting on my custom tunes...went ahead and requested an O2 sensor deletion because I might get some high flows. Doing a few refresh mods to keep me interested. Anything to keep me from trading up is a good thing...

how do you guys think this would sound with all 4 cats, stock, on a 97-03 5.4? Cause it seems as though most of those running the super 10 have modified the cats(or deleted some) on this thread.

Won't be loud enough to keep you happy probably. The 4 cat system resonates a margin of volume. I personally like straights on those year trucks, but only those. Everything else needs a muffler to produce a quality tone.

DarrenWS6, I'm very surprised that you even thought about Flowmaster!

, I'm not 100% anti - chambered muffler, but I won't run one on a modular block. It sounds nice, just not as nice as mine but thats probably because I prefer the smooth modular block sound over a push-rod. The Youtubes of the Super 10s on F150 don't impress me either but they are merely videos. Youtube "'07 F-150 5.4L & '01 Ram 5.9L Exhaust compare" and have a listen.

Update: After some more time with the super 10, the drone is def. present. It's your typical tradeoff…loud and proud on the outside equals loud and annoying inside. Still like it though..

It does with long tubes I like the "annoying" part though cause I wanna hear it with the winders up.

Open headers with just resonators like I've got right now IS annoying, but in a wonderful way haha. Muffler and duals are going back on today

Your one of the very few that have done LTs so your special . Same Roush kit? Or are you changing it up?

Well it's no wonder why people pass the LT project up on these trucks . . . I think I'm special for doing it, like special ED! (somebody is going to quote this, and should even include what's in these parentheses) But yeah, same Roush kit. I'm thinking about either getting a cutout or ordering the parts I need to get another Y to run in place of my SIDO muffler for when I'm feeling "rebellious." I've had my fun being obnoxious for the last two days.

I do want to look into true duals with an X and some 14" bullets or something though if I can get by with minor TIG (or careful MIG) welding and/or just all clamps cause I'm not dealing with the headache of having someone else put their hands on it. No idea if I'd be happy with the sound of that or not and don't want to spend more money on a whim. I'm just not happy with the sound right now because it's not loud enough with those darn resonators (and straights are too loud) and it doesn't sound like a Mustang I'd drop another $500 on it immediately if I could get it to sound exactly like my buddy's mustang!

Anybody else have the Super 10? I'm thinking about using one in place of the factory muffler on my 97 4.6. Probably leave the factory in front of wheel exit and throw on a little bigger tip.

Yes I know straight thru flows better. I've seen some dyno tests and the flowmaster is usually down a little hp and tq but those tests were all 2 or 3 chamber mufflers so I think the difference will be less with the single chamber.

I just installed the super 10 single 3" in and out single 2.5" side exit with high flow cat's and it is not as loud as my dual exit set up I had before super 44 dual side exit, but the 10 sounds much better then the 44, I like the super 10 way more. I can hear my wife talk in side the cab before I couldn't lol.
