I would prefer deep and mellow. I just want something a little bit louder than stock. Basically just looking for a little sound nothing thats going to be too loud and I'm going to want to take it off the truck right away!

This one is a stainless tip, not that chrome over steel crap that vatozone sells. $44 with that same code. The dimensions on this one is 3.5" by 18" with a 2.5" inlet, and it's a 15 degree cut with rolled edges. Looks sophisticated IMO (which is why I have 2).

Judging by your preferences, not wanting much louder than stock ( inside? ) but still rumbling ( outside? ), I would suggest a muffler swap with a Magnaflow #11366 11" body oval. Maybe add a tip to the tailpipe too.

This will achieve good, clear noted noise, that is calm and retained interior levels at highway speeds and usual cruising.

Yea I dont even really want it to be that loud outside. Just looking for a little more sound than stock. I will look into the magnaflow 11216 listed above and the magnaflow 11366 that you listed and see if maybe I can find some sound clips on them. Then decide from there. Thanks for the help everyone!

I really like that style tip but is that for running the exhaust out the back of the truck under the rear bumper? Im looking to have my exhaust exit behind the rear tire like factory. Would I need a shorter tip for that?

An 18" tip fits. The shop might have to rework the tailpipe a little bit. I went with a 4" tip instead of the 3.5"

it all depends on how big ya want the tip. if youre just doin a muffler swap, then a 4" tip will look a lil too big on a 2.5" pipe. go with 3 or 3.5", and go 18" long. that length will help get some more sound out of your exhaust

anyone know the length of the stock muffler on the 04-08 off the top of their heads... and we're 2.5" in and out correct? mine's 07 if that matters. And how exactly is the sound given off by the muffler affected by the length of the muffler

^ Length? No idea. Diameter? 2.5". Muffler length effect? The larger volume of the muffler, generally the quieter the muffler.
