Muffler & X Pipe Placement ?

Daggon guys... I've read almost every exhaust thread 5 pages deep and can't find the post about where the best location for the x pipe and the mufflers is. I know I read it somewhere...

So can anyone help me out?

I think it was something like putting the mufflers behind the cab area and the x pipe as far forward as possible thus eliminating drone...

Thanks again...

Have the X-pipe mounted where the two pipes originally intersect and install the mufflers under the bed of the truck before the rear axle.

So just wondering why would this setup be good? What does this help with?

The X pipe is the most efficient the farther forward where the exhaust gases are the hottest. The farther back you put your mufflers, the lesser amount of drone you will have to deal with in the cab.

Dang guys right on with it all. Don't forget to read the Exhaust sticky thread, a good amount of information from our author Punisher

You had better post feedback on that setup, and a video. We will be waiting.

Magnaflow Tru-X

Well, just got my Magnaflow Tru-X x pipe from Performance Peddler, who, by the way, had a great price and most excellent service....

However, the x pipe itself looks hastily made. One of the welds where the 3" long by 2.5" dia. pipe is welded to the x pipe body had a hole in it where the two weren't welded a full 360 degrees around. Its just a couple mm hole, but enough to allow a leak.

When I ordered the x pipe I was notified that it was on backorder for a week so I'm not sure that Magnaflow just threw a bunch together and QC went down a bit to meet demand. I hope this isn't the case, but now I have to make sure the hole gets patched upon install, just another thing to worry about.

Sorry for the bitchin' but I expected more from Magnaflow and an x pipe that costs 3 times as much as the other ebay models (although I just paid $67 for mine).

Should have the complete exhaust on in the next few weeks, hopefully.
