My adapter from tbi to intake is plastic so I don't have that issue. That's crazy that the one supplied was rubber like that. I have a replacement hose as well in same spot but black. They all have those including stock. Mgd of all people doesn't know something. I am shocked. Seems to be very knowledgeable. Maybe it was the blue hose.

Seems the more I read about the 05-up F-150's being modded alittle, they have problems... Don't know why! Can't put a simple hi-flow filter without needing custom tunes.I have the K&N FIPKII and a Edge programer... no custom tunes, no problems! I tow 50% of the time and never get any codes... I do have a '02 5.4L though!
Mine has a light whistle at idle only... and Whoosh!!! when I punch it!

Hi.

No - they 'mod' just fine - you just need to be aware of how to do it correctly, and safely.

On yer truck - which has a venturi-style MAF - you do not have the same concerns as slot-style MAF-equipped trucks.

BTW - the 3V's respond far better to 87-octane perf tuning that the 2v's.

Isn't that that the way the K&N kits are?

Well I now have a diablosport programmer that has a canned tune for k&n Cai. It seems to be doing great. Gonna fill her up tomorrow and see if mpgs improved at all. I'll deal with the whistle cause even the canned tune seems great. Running 87 tune for the k&n and I can tell a difference in power and throttle response. Didn't want to pay 500 for the Cai with programmer but if I keep it a while and helps tow my tt better then it may be worth it. Wish I had the 3.73 gears instead of 3.55s but the mpg when not towing may be worth it. Will upload pics if the phone let's me. Still don't like the way I have to upload pics cause I only have internet on my phone.
