The Edge is just a pre-made programmer with canned tunes. The Gryphon is pretty much the same as the Edge, but the firmware has been altered to allow custom tunes, made by Bill at PHP. The custom tunes are only really needed if you have power mods like exhausts, intakes, headers, cams, etc.

Ohhhhhh I gotcha, right on. So the only downside to a Gryphon is only 1 guy does the tunes and if he retires....no more tunes.

If he retires you just get the programmer tuned elsewhere.

Well he's still got a few more years to go, but yes. I think he has 1 or 2 other experienced guys working with him, so the business should be around for quite some time. That's also why the wait times are so long.

I just emailed PHP for a quote on the Gryphon CTS

Hopefully the weather is permitting this weekend so I can give my truck a little TLC and snap some pics

The headlight are a set of black Hella's. I picked them up for about $185 on Amazon back in April. The grille is a chrome over plastic Roush grille that's been painted by a local shop.

I have been working on my "list" for the truck and the first thing I'd like is a gryphon/edge cts tuner (once I sell my t-maxx and the stock stereo cd player)

Then an alarm - after that then re-doing the exhaust and cai is next in line

So until then (probably be done around Feb 2011) I'd like to price everything out Definitely going to go with magnaflow hi flow cats - I'd like Dynatech long tube headers if they fit my app. and I was leaning towards Borla mufflers and am undecided on the tips.
