could just have a exhaust shop weld or even clamp on a chunk of pipe to replace the tip temporary

I've decided to cut between 1-2" after the FM and install a 45 degree downtown pipe. My question here is, can I just tighten the pipe down using c-clamps or something similar, or will it need to be welded on? It's only going to be for the winter, and I'll be abandoning the entire setup come spring.

Thanks guys!

Read my prior posts to the one you quoted, and look at what I was replying to, and you'll see my point.

Doesn't matter what they cost or how they sound, man already said he just wanted to use his good FM until spring and someone else was trashing the FM out of hand and suggesting he'ld somehow be better with buying those bulletts as well ..... when he's going to replace it all in spring anyway.

Just as an update; cut/installed down pipe this morning. Dumped it over the rear axle just before the spare tire, and it now projects towards the ground at an angle.

Does well, seems much quieter in the cab, not as deep sounding and rats a little on deceleration. Should work fine until spring. Thanks for the help guys!
