I think if u want great "straight pipe" sound and good performance stroke the 5.4, bore it, install a cam and heads, then instead of it sounding like its running 100 mph and just going 40 it will even it out a lil bit. I had straight true duals on a chevy pickup once with a lil bit warmed over small block and I lost bottom end. I went back to true duals with dynomax super turbo mufflers and it sounded better, regained throttle response, got back bottom end torquen plus it ran a faster et thru quarter mile.

I don't have a problem with people wanting louder exhaust but what I have a problem with is the guys that feel they have to go WFO all the time with straight pipes. And before you go hating me my diesel is straight piped.

Diesel is different. They sound great with straight pipes, they sound even better with a larger diameter pipe all the way back too.

why pay for a muffler???? the sound is very clean withg the x-pipe. im guna make a vid of my exhaust...hopfully soon. its a very smooth low tone. no crackling.

Well I'm sure there's a justifiable reason why myself and many others pay for a muffler and prefer the sound. As long as you're happy with yours, that's what matters. Looking forward to hearing it.
