Dynomax Bullets on a V6?

It seems as though a lot of guys on here, with V8's, are using Dynomax Bullets with their exhaust. I have been researching exhausts for my V6, but no one has mentioned or talked about using a Bullet on a V6. Anyone have any videos of a V6 with Bullets? Or any advice on how it'd sound? I'm assuming it'd sound ricey like most mufflers on the 4.2... but I have zero exhaust experience. Wellll... thanks in advance!

Yeah, there's a couple of guys riding around with Bullets behind their 4.2. They all sound incredibly awful. Either leave it stock (preferable), or use a Flowmaster 40. The latter won't sound AS bad, but it will still sound pretty crappy.

Punisher is correct. If you want your TRUCK to sound like a HONDA CIVIC, then bullets will do that. Flowmaster super 40, 44 or cherry bomb extreme will be the loudest, deepest, and sound good for a V6. Chambered mufflers FTW on 6s.

You're damn right I don't like V6's. They sound like crap and are gutless. What's to like about them?

Good gas mileage for a full size truck, i Averaged about 19 with a true duals, cheap insurance (on mine in tx anyway) there really not bad trucks, i wish they would dump the 4.2 and go back to the 300 industrial, that same motor was put in heavy duty dump trucks school buses and a few 18 wheelers plus cheaper tune ups, granted saving money on 2 spark plugs isnt going to save much.

If you want to stay away from bullets i heard an off brand flowmaster i think it was called a flowtech on a 2001 ranger with a 4.0 in it that sounded great on a 6 cyl

Sorry I my dad handed his old work truck down to me and I'm just trying to make it my own, my mistake.
*sarcasm...

And thanks for the input. I was actually thinking about going with a brand called FloPro. They're chambered mufflers and my brother had one installed on his 4.0 Ranger at a local exhaust shop and it really does sound good for a V6.

Stick with a chambered muffler, a Flowmaster 2 chamber muffler type, or a Cherrybomb Extreme.

Straight through mufflers will sound a little ricey on the 4.2Ls.

Yep ^

I had a v6 before this truck and I really regretted buying it too. You can't do vary many "truck activity's" with a v6. They do get good gas millage for a full size truck when they are reg. cab with 2 wheel drive though.

Nothing wrong with that at all, its a good gift and a fair privilege. Congrats.

Maybe a V8 swap could be in your future if you ever get bored of it.
