"Crazy" is not, in this case, a misnomer. Doing one's "own thing" is a time-honored American tradition, but only so far as it does not interfere with others. This is a basic construct of a polite and civilized society. Extremely loud exhausts are disconcerting at times, distracting at others. They will startle some unsuspecting drivers as you pass them when they are unaware of your approach, they can awaken people from sleep at night, and they will most assuredly draw the attention of the local constabulary (that's the police, for those of you in Rio Linda). But possibly the bigger issue for those insecure folk who insist upon this kind of "look at me" attention seeking is that people will invariably conclude that the decible level of the exhaust exceeds the IQ of the driver. And too often they will be correct. Deeply rich and somewhat mellower can also be quite loud, if desired, without being obstreperous. Make it loud(and worse, obnoxious as all get-ot)if you feel you must. Just don't get worked up at the glares, hand gestures and unkind remarks of those you may offend.
Watch the end of my Bullet video, 8:12 - 8:42 to be exact. You can hear my truck with no mufflers.
here is my exhaust.
true duals, no mufflers, stock cats, angled out at 45's

also, most of those videos that other have posted are when the truck is first cranked and not up to temperature. when the cats are cold, the exhaust is pretty raspy and pops. but after about 1 min. the cats warm up the and the exhaust sounds like mine. which is pretty tame for straights because of the stock 4 cats.
another of a drive by.launched in 4x4. after the first part, fast forward to 1:40
