So now I have a problem if I want to just put in the muffler with a Y. I want to go with a 3" and the Y would have to be 3" in 2.25" out. Now the problem is I can't locate one of those. Smallest I found was 3" in 2.5" out

Keep it 2.5" out of the Y. Why would you wanna go smaller?

Thats is the size of pipe that is already there. I measured it today and thought it was small. It is the legal system. It came on the truck from the factory.

I think I am going to do an over the axle dump. I am pretty sure I can do it myself with some pre-bent pipes and some band clamps.

I've been looking at some dumped setups on here and it seems everyone is doing a dual dump. Is there any reason to do it this way? Better sound?

dual dump would probably be the same reason for dual tips and dual tails...i.e. the resonance and sound it gives off vs. a single tailpipe

Good call.

So 3" into a Y 2.5" all the way back to some beefy tips. I'm in. Buy some 45s and see what I can do with it.

Thanks for all the help

My only problem was excessive heat killing the finish on my tip. Been running no muffler on it since somewhere around June or July this year.
