Alright so 4" tips. Now to decide if I order 1 or 2 of the XR-1s.

I was look for tips like this, dual walled, slash cut. I have a powder coating gun so they don't need to be black. Anyone got any ideas where to get some 3" ID and 4" OD?

Alright talked to the shop, said they can't bend stainless. So I got some deciding to do.

1. Buy pre-bent stainless and hope it'll will clear and look good.
2. Run the cheaper pipe and run the risk of rusting
3. Get the cheaper pipe, take it off when I get home and powder coat it all..If the muffler can handle the heat, and if the exhaust doesn't get too hot. Might even ceramic coat it.

Right now I don't know what to do. Can exhaust shops even bend stainless? I figured if they could bend tube they could bend it all. What would you suggest?

perfect example of the same situation i went thru....the problem is theyre bender probably "crushes the pipe" so to say, stainless can be bent u saw my trucks exhaust.
id say to keep lookin around and go to every shop u can and explain what you...heck draw a picture, dont feel down man, and i would suggest to keep looking before u purchase aluminized and go thru the trouble of ceramic coating

p.s. i went to 6 shops and only 1 wanted to buy, bend and weld stainless for me

I will try other shops but I'm not really sure where any more are. I'll have to do a bit of research

Dont give up on what you want man. I wanted stainless for my exhaust setup and just settled which I reget cause now im on my second side exhaust setup and not happy with it. Im thinking of just saying the heck with it and doing straight dumps after the mufflers so I cant see it anymore.

1- My '97 did discolor the wheel. never had any issue with tire getting overheated, though. When I would rotate that wheel to the front, after a month or three, and a few washings, it would mostly be back to normal. YMMV, and it sounds line the new motors burn cleaner, so maybe it is not an issue anymore?

2- Stainless can be bent, but it is about 2x as strong as "regular" steel, so the shop needs a heavy-duty bender.

Good luck with the project!

I am actually considering just dumping it after the muffler. I already have a 3" into the muffler..and I'm buying the SISO 3" XR-1. So I don't know. Be alot cheaper and should still sound beefy

it should sound good. Im just going to end up doing 3 inch dumps right after my slp loudmouth mufflers. Its also really hard to keep the tips clean when you have them exit out the side before the tire.

if your going to dump, do yourself a favor and do it the right way and dump OVER the axle.

What is the difference? If I am going to go that far back I'd rather take off the onroad Roush muffler and make the XR-1 fit in its place with a Y. Then leave the tips out the back

it will be louder in the cab and have more drone if you dump before the axle vs if you dump after the axle. I've had mine dumped right after the Y pipe with just cats on it while i switched my setups it wasnt extremely loud in the cab. just something to consider

I guess for now until I can find a shop that can bend stainless I'll order the XR-1 with a Y and rig it into my current setup. Knowing me I will probably just call it good enough then. lol

If you go aluminized just ceramic coat it and keep any snow/salt from sitting in places that rust quick on the exhaust if you live somewhere that uses salt on the roads like me.

Ya that just won't happen. I am def not doing aluminized. My buddy told me his old setup rusted right off. So that is out

Does anybody know the OD of the tubing after the muffler on the Roush setup? I can measure it but its so dang cold out there.
