3" straight pipe on 04 5.4

Exhaust shop told me a straight pipe would be too loud when I had my exhaust done last year so I let them use a magnaflow type straight through muffler (they neglected to tell me the muffler was going to be like 24" long). So my exhaust was way too quiet, barely louder than stock and I didn't like it. About a month ago I finally got the ambition to replace my muffler with straight pipe and I'm glad I did. With the 4 cats a 3" straight pipe doesn't sound very straight pipe-ish at all. It's really deep and has a good tone, almost like the Roush video I've seen on youtube. There's no noticeable kackle or card-in-spokes sound inside the cab. The drone doesn't seem bad but I don't have a lot to compare it to - if you have the stereo on you don't notice the exhaust.

I was planning to add a bullet or magnapack but I think I'll just leave it as it is for now. I actually wish it was a little louder at high rpm but I like it a lot down low. It's deep enough that I can set off car alarms at about 2000 rpm

Add a 3" Magnapack and cut the rear cats out.

No its 3" stainless from the y back. I think stock is 2.5", isn't it? My tip has 3" inside diameter so I think it would sound even deeper if the tip was bigger.

The only thing I could use to record a video would be my phone. Would that even be worth my time? Its a Blackberry.

Down the road I might go to high flow cats but at that time I'll probably add some sort of muffler. I don't want it any louder inside the cab than it is now.

I think most guys here know how it would sound. IMO, that's the only good sounding straight pipe setup you can do on these trucks. The OEM cats keep it from crackling and popping, but still have a decent sound to it. If you decide to swap/remove cats, either a Bullet or Magnapack would sound best.
