I'm not sure if magnaflow makes a 14" SI/DO with a 3" input or not.

Cool thanks AV. How does the borla rate vs magnaflow for added power?

Borla and magnaflow both flow damn near the same. You will see a little different tone between the 2 though. Magnaflow uses 2 types of packing in there mufflers. Stainless and rockwool. Borla uses 100% stainless packing.

IMO, the Borla will have a deeper tone and more lower frequency noise, where as the magnaflow will have more higher pitched noise. but will still have a nice deep rumble to it.

Personnel preference from here on out...

Go with the DI/DO for cost reasons. Dual mufflers for more interior rumble, and sound outside. The dual muffler setup would drone a pinch more.

Tomorrow is my appointment. I called them up to tell them I want an x pipe installed, and they told me that the best way to go is with DI/DO with the magnaflow muffler with that has the internal x pipe. Should I push the issue of having an x pipe installed closer to the cats or should the DI/DO xpiped magnaflow be good enough. I'm more interested in power then sound again.

Max power = you need that crossover as close to the factory Y location as possible, and 2.25" duals. What mufflers are you going with again?

The y pipe has all ready been cut out, I was just going to go with what the shop recommended the DI/DO xpiped magnaflow. Would it be possible to have an x pipe put in close to where the y pipe was and use the DI/DO x piped magnaflow muffler or would that be too many x pipes?

Your exhaust should only be combined by a crossover once, more than once can result in a poor performing exhaust. Similar to running two Flowmaster mufflers in a row. Interrupted flow velocity, poor scavenging. Go with the internal X piped Magnaflow muffler to keep things simple. They seem too lazy to put a true X pipe in.
