Spintech Anyone?

Hey guys.. Ive got a Flowmaster Super 44 dumped after the cab and it sounds pretty good.

But i've heard amazing things about these Spintech mufflers. Does anyone have one on their 5.4? I've heard them on the little 4cylinder Rangers and boy do they wake those little guys up.

i used to have the spintech pro street on my 5.0 mustang. that was a major beast. when i installed it in my auto hobby shop and cranked it, every guy in the shop came over to check it out. i actually wanted to find a spintech muffler and have it welded in on my 4.6.

They sound real good. Sounds like a cross between a chambered muffler and a straight through packed one. The only thing about them is they look as ugly as a Halloween pumpkin in the middle of November . They are square and nothing to lust for.

Looks like the shop on youtube that specializes in using Spintech mufflers made one for the new F150s. This shop usually fabs true duals for trucks and SUVs, so this is the first SI/DO I have seen so far. Looks like Ford now uses the good joint mounted clamps now.

And if I may add, HOLY HECK that stock muffler is huge!!! Can someone measure just how long it is? I think thats the biggest muffler Fords have had yet!, my '04 had a 32" long one and I thought that was long. That looked to be at least 36.

with my spintech mufflers, i had to run no cats to make it flow right. i bought a custom X pipe that allowed me to swap the cats in and out with straight pipes. it was a neat design. i just swap it out and clamp it. the spintech mufflers sounded like total crap with the cats installed. when i swapped my straight pipe back in, it sounded like a monsterous beast.

unfortunately geocities shut down so i cannot access my old site. i had a wav file of my stang on spintech pro streets .

Does anyone know how well they flow vs. a straight through muffler? I imagine that they flow a lot better than a chambered muffler.

^ They must flow better than a chambered, but I doubt they flow as good as a straight threw muffler... but you would probably not ever notice that much of a difference either.
