Arrow Dual Exhaust

Well, i want to put dual exhaust on my v8 5.4l f150. I was leaning toward putting the best sounding flow master on it but i'm not sure which is the loudest and if flowmaster is good on fords. Another problem i have is my spare tire. i have a 35' inch spare tire which doesn't leave spacing for dual pipe to the back. I'm not sure what to do here.. i thought about maybe putting a bed mount but im not sure how great that would look. so if anyone has any ideas please help.

Thanks!

First of all... A custom shop might be able to bend around the tire, you'll have to let them look at it.

Second... Perfect idea!!! Ford loves fordmaster mufflers! LOL Mine are original 40s

Supper 44's are more raspy and not any louder than 40, and not as deep either
delta flow 40 are just junk
10's are really loud, but not as deep as original 40's
50's sounds like 40's but a little quieter

I got an estimate, from the only exhaust guy in our area, for true duals.. for 490 i think? i'm not sure if i want to go for that unless true duals make it sound alot better? and the only problem he said that he couldn't do it because of the spare tire being so big.

So super 40's are the best in yalls opinion or no?

super 40's are nice and deep. but not as loud as original 40's.

best bet would be to go with original. 490's not to bad. what are you gonna do turndowns then? or lose the spare

Well i'm wanting the loud so im thinking im going to go with original 40's.
So 490's a good deal? what if i don't get true duals?
Right now im with a magnaflow and a turn down, but i really like the way dual looks. So i wana go with the 40's a guess, and i really want to lose the spare. I guess that the only way i can fit them. Have you heard of anyone doing a bed mount for the spare? i just dont know how that would look.

yea, the guy here, the ONLY one i let do my exhaust, does true dual 40's for about 450 with 3" tips. no tips are a little cheaper, and turndowns are alot cheaper.

i wouldnt do a bed mount, if you haul anything in your bed, i know from experience it SUCKS not having a spare, had a blowout on my ranger and didnt have a spare, LUCKILY my daddy had the same truck at the time.

Yeah man that is a good deal! Yeah i'm not sure if the guy estimated the tips in but i definantly want them.

So i have the exhaust..
Only problem left is the spare. Yeah i know i wouldn't want to but.. im out of options. unless i just take off the spare and leave it at home.. seeing im only 16 i usually wont be too far from town anyway.

id just throw it in the bed, wouldnt mount it, just toss it back there unless your scared itll get stolen. honestly i wouldnt leave it at home either, and im not sure how much bed mounts cost

EDIT: you could get one of those locking bike chains and chain the spare up so nobody would steal it.

Yeah maybe. But i wouldn't want it flopping around in the bed. so maybe if i chained it up against something? What do people with bigger spare tires usually do?

well that big heavy son of a gun shouldnt flop around too much, my little 15" trailer tire doesnt even flop around most people with big spares either mount em or turndowns

Flowmaster claims the Super 44 is the deepest, most aggressive sounding muffler they make...

Plus the 44's have the smallest baffling of any Flowmaster, so more power from those vs. the 40's.

Being able to get power at all with a Slowmaster is a miracle!!

The Super 44 is the deepest toned Flowmaster and is the only 2 chamber worth buying to me. They sound great but still have that stupid bubble toned idle. The chamber design is surely one of their better designs, it just sucks its still so wide inside.
