I don't think any engine "loves" Flowmaster. Common sense should tell you that a straight-through muffler would be better for performance. I personally can't stand the sound of Flows, around here every white trash redneck has them.

I've definitley started associating Flowmaster with Silverado's. I've only seen one Silverado with a Magnaflow (lightning style) and it sounds amazing.

True, Flowmasters belong on push-rod V8s. They only sound good on Chevys. Dodges, eh, better sounding engine than Ford and Chevy & almost as good with a Flowmaster, but not as good as a Chevy though.

I wanted one exactly like this... 1500 sport quad cab w/ the hemi. I still love the look. I was actually going to look at one because the ford's were so much dough and I found a 2wd silver slt with the 20's and hemi with 30k on it for 13,000. Glad this heck of a deal I got on my truck popped up. This was my dream truck for a long long time tho

I'll repeat my self. I have heard supper 44 and original 40 on the same car, and the 44 are not as deep as the 40.

Original 40's sounds the best, period!

I've got 50 series on there... I kinda like it, but it gives that "drone" sound at idle speeds... ahhh!!! what a headache!!! I would like to swap out for a magnaflow or maybe orig. 40.... I had a 40 on there before, I don't remember if it was delta 40, or super 40.... It sounded like the 50, just a lot louder... I personally thought the 50 was deeper and better sounding, but like the OP said, the 40 is def. louder. I would keep your spare man, I would do turndowns... thats what Im looking to do whenver I get the money to fix the exhaust.
