I have a true dual set-up of Flowmasters Super 44's. They've been on their for about a year now. Will I like them? Also, when I crack the gas, it makes this rumble sound. Why? But, what I really want to know, is why does the rumble seem to get louder when I get on it!

Long tubes for 4.6L?

I don't know if this was covered in this thread or not, but does dynatech make a set of long tubes for the 4.6L?

I've got an exhaust leak on the pass. side manifold and what better than to switch to headers right now. I don't want shorties because with no other mods they'll just blow out my stock cats in a years time. I've been reading that I should just get some pacesetters and make them fit. However, I have limited tools and limited time.

So what I want is a bolt on dynatech or OBX longtube kit for the 4.6L. Anybody found one or seriously know if they exist?

Thanks!! I will move this post if it's not relevant sorry!

-Ian

pre-cats

Does anyone know what angle the pre-cats are? I've thought about cutting them out, but was thinking about maybe looking to see if I could find some pre-bent mandrel bent pipe to put in its place if I could find it bent at the right angle. Also, I've found some maggie hi-flows that are made to fit the pre-cats; was wondering if this may be the sound I'm going for if I don't want it too loud, but still loud enough. My magnaflow muffler is 22" long, so it's pretty quiet. If I got 4 hi-flows in place of my 4 stockers, would the sound be quite a bit louder? Or should I just replace the 2 rears with high flows and cut out the pre-cats? Or would that be too loud?

This would be the best method, as long as you can still get inspected/emissions passed.

I'm pretty sure I could cut out all four and still pass emissions where I live LOL they don't even look under the truck to see if there's any cats there. I'm not wanting it too loud though. Anybody know what angle these would need to be cut at? I'd really like to get some mandrel-bend pipe to put in its place. Just how much louder do you think this would make my exhaust? My maggie's pretty quiet...I like it that way, but wouldn't mind it a little more aggressive.

With your 22" Magnaflow you will never know what loud is, regardless of header or cats. I would say a 45 to 90 degree angle.
