expecially on a 5.4 I love this sound but if it were my truck it'd have an H instead of the X pipe

he took it off the truck now and he went with a JLP comp R exhaust and the comp R is nuts, I'm not at that level yet but I may be getting close

Sorry to beat a dead horse.

I am new to the online forums. I just bought an 07 F150 FX4 Supercab. I am also a rookie when it comes to trucks. I do want an exhaust system and I don't know which will be the best. After reading some of the posts it's definitely something I'll need advice with. Like I said I know very little and have no experience when it comes to exhaust for trucks. I'll take any input and it will be appreciated.

well welcome, a lot of people are going to tell you that you should absolutly run magnaflows...

but we need to know what you are looking for in an exhaust, what kind of note, how loud, whether or not you want to just replace your muffler or if you want to run new pipes

dynatech Long tube headers are the best you can get. stainless steel jet coated. idk about their high flows, but i know magnaflows are top notch. ur system is gonna be so loud and mean sounding. dual bullets, h pipe, longtubes, and high flows! shoot! thats my dream setup man!

Hi,

I just bought a 07 F150 w/ 6.5' bed not too long ago and I'm looking to do an exhaust and intake. I searched here and F150Forums and can't seem to find my answer, but, while searching I figured out that I want a Roush off road exhaust & most likey an AF1 intake.

My question is, is there any vendors here that sell the exhaust with an extra piece of pipe since I am being told the kit will be too short for truck? I called a couple local shops and I am getting some high prices for the install ($150-200). I would like to do the install myself as long I can just bolt everything up.

I am located in the SE PA area so if there is anyone nearby that can recommend a shop that will charge me a reasonable price I would appreciate it.

Thanks

there is no reason for a shop to install a bolt on kit. call roush directly and see what they recommend regarding an extra piece of pipe, if thatll work.

I did call them. They told me I would need to take the truck somewhere to have them fab the extra length in. I don't want to go to shop for a bolt on kit, but apparently it's not going to just bolt on.

If it's your intermediate pipe that is to short couldn't you just call a shop and ask them how much an intermediate pipe of X length would cost? Buy the pipe and then bolt it on yourself.

+1...also just try going by autozone, oreilley, etc. They sell piping right off the shelf, great for what you're looking for. If you have a welder or a buddy who can weld, that would be your most economical choice. If not, you MIGHT get by on just clamping it, but you'd be more satisfied in the long run if you had it welded up. That said, my setup at the moment is just clamped on, and I've had no problems so far on it. But it was designed to be clamped on - no intermediate pipe was needed.
