Question Question bout Dumping exhaust out of muffler

I recently put banks power exhaust on my truck and cut the tip off cause it was huge and pretty rediculous. I cut by the last bracket so my pipe is hidden under my truck by the right fender.
My question is that im thinking about dumping my exhaust and I was wondering if this will make a different(hopefully better) noise. Right now exhaust sounds good (loud at high rpms quite in idle) so would dumping it affect idle noise and produce a deeper sound cause im ocd about my truck sounding and looking at its best.

Thanks

Dumping the exhaust will make it quieter. The reason is because the exhaust will just be directed under the truck instead of out. It might also be louder in the cab depending on where and how you dump it.

Exactly, so you might want to change your plan for your truck.

Wouldn't having exhaust pointed downward towards pavement reflect the noise and produce a louder sound. My friend just dumped his and its 10X's louder so i dont know what yall are talking about it being quieter.

I dumped my exhaust (on my last exhaust) after running tips for almost a year. I know it makes it quieter outside but louder in the cab. Your friend must have cut the muffler off too or done something else.

Not as well as dual tailpipes with large diameter tips to megaphone the sound in the far surroundings.

i just had my setup dumped last week. its a si/do fm40 with the big set of cats removed. it made it louder inside the cab and slightly louder outside, however, the sound in the cab has a tone and isnt a constant low note like ive heard from some trucks. the truck now sounds louder and better at low rpms where it was the opposite with the tailpipes. it also has more of the raspier flowmaster sound that you hear on older trucks. heres a vid with the tailpipes, i need to make a new one now that i've changed it up a bit.

You will probably have an irritating drone in the cab with a muffler dump... Some like it some don't...
