I have an 07 screw with a flowmaster 40 si/do. I like the tone, but i want it to be louder without spending to much money. Any suggestions?

How are your tailpipes ran and with what size tips?

x2. This would be the cheapest, buy a Y pipe and some clamps and pipe to make the difference, should break $30 with a $22 Magnaflow Y pipe.

To keep your nice Flowmaster sound but gain volume, hi-flow converters. $67 each ( you'll need two ) for Magnaflow 94106 hi-flows which give a near catless sound, and $50 - $150 labor of install and O2 sensor remounting ( after the new cats to keep CEL off ).

The tailpipes run straight out the back...... I think i will go with the hi flow cats because i still want the tone. How loud do the hi flow cats make it? Is it a noticable difference?

Very noticeable difference, it sounds near cat-less.

With OEM cats.

Straights sound horrible, not too bad on these modular V8s though, but the sound is questionable.

straights sound pretty good on these trucks. if you replace the si/do with a y-pipe it will sound pretty good imo. i tried it for a sec but while at the exhaust shop i decided to go for true dual straights and i loved it. only problem is you need a crossover pipe, h or x (preferably x). but search around on youtube and eventually it will come to you. i change my set up once a year or so and so far im diggin the magnaflows but im thinkin about goin for straights again soon

and then reality sets in and you'll wish you had of listened to Darrin, expecially after you get that first ticket for noise/emissions violations

besides what's the point of an abnoxiously loud yet super slow truck???

I read in your album that you have true duals with no mufflers. How do you like that? Does it sound good?
