I want BIG exhaust? possible?

i want exhaust like my diesel.

i miss that big huge pipe.

is it possible to run a SI/SO muffler with like a 3 inch or larger pipe coming out of the muffler?

If so, im going to do that and run a big tip with an adapter.

anyone see a problem with that? like no back pressure or something?

You dont want backpressure. You want velocity. If you go with a 3 inch or larger pipe you will lose low end torque. I'm sure you could do 2.5 inch pipe and run a big tip on the end then no one would know. I might be wrong but someone will chime in.

i thought backpressur made low end torque? i duno, im probably wrong.

but sometimes those adapters look cheesy. if i can get the exhuat shop to tuck it up in the body i will probably just do that.

MBRP has a big single exhaust. Guys have put it on and reported no low end loss. It's got a DEEP tone and sounds great. I'm about to order one right now to replace my roush system.

The OEM exhaust is just slightly over 2.5". The Banks Monster catback exhaust has a 3" intermediate pipe, 3" inlet/outlet on the muffler and 3.5" tailpipe with a huge oblong polished stainless steel tip. All piping is made from 409 stainless steel and carries a lifetime warranty.

Definantly go with the Banks MONSTER exhaust.. With the single out right rear exit.
I sure wish Banks made one for the 02 F-150

An all 3" exhaust would be very healthy, the best exhaust to run.

MBRP is a very well liked kit. I just learned a little something today, so MBRPs kit is 3" to the muffler, and the tailpipe is 3.5"s? That explains why it retains great low end them. Interesting.

No thats not correct its 3 1/2 from the y back it doesnt lose torque because it gets reduced on the inlet side of the muffler to 2 3/8 its shaped like a reverse volosity stack just before it enters the baffle material in the muffler.
