The reason it says "Inlet" on the blank side is because Flowmaster uses the same end caps for several variations of the same size muffler whether it be dual in or single in and dual out or single out, they just pop the hole out at the end of the building stage where it supposed to be, it says Inlet and it's on the outlet side... therefore, it's on backwards and you're losing horsepower and increasing your backpressure way more than you should. Switch it around and it should sound like a 40 series is supposed to sound.

Ya I'd say its a little on the odd side. If you had it done at a local shop, they should have givin you a work order with the mechanics name on it. Go talk to the guy in charge at that shop and find out why it was done that way and make'em correct it. If they didnt weld it and its just a bolt on configuration you could always put the truck up on ramps and just get a how to online and rebolt it up the right way yourself. Just depends on the cercumstances and your personal preferences. Unless of course I'm wrong and the deltas are supposed to be that way. Just My 2 cents.

Did you mean to say Magnaflow? The 10 series Flowmaster is not a straight through flowing muffler. Its a single chamber with 3 baffles.

Talking success!

thanks again for all the input guys!!!

Happy ending after all. Im in training from 8-5pm, M-F; so my dad handled this for me today. He just dropped in, explained it, and (much to our surprise) he said the guy was very nice and handled it with no arguements or anything.

I have yet to hear or drive it, but ill take a sound vid and post it, since i still have the clip of when it was backwards. ill post em side by side when I can.

Thanks again!!

Should have gotten a straight through Magnaflow. They're idiot proof.

Can just see a guy in a garage holding one up to see through the inlet and sees right through to across the garage, then yells "Hey Bill! I see you!"

I guess they really gave it the "Midas touch"!
I just saw this thread and had to laugh - what is this world coming to when you can't even read "inlet" and know that it shouldn't be facing the rear of the truck

A "happy ending" from a muffler shop. I've got to go to massage parlors for mine.

I dunno, but if the 04's are anything like my 02 was then they're definitely not high flow cats. Did a set of high flows on my truck Saturday and the difference is tremendous. And the sound is sweet

as for the OP, yeah Midas definitely fail
