Going to buy hi-flow cats

Next week I will be buying two cats. No shop around here wants to remove my 4 and replace with two, and one shop gave me an honest answer to not do this because further down the road it will damage computer related things and since i'm not tuned for two cats its not worth messing with.

I was on the phone with CarSound/Magnaflow not long ago and the guy told me that I would need 94006. Replacing my rear cats only. I wanted to go with the 94106 which is a 3" shorter version of the 94006 but he adviced me not to because it may set the CEL, which I dont see how when there are no sensors after the rear cat, but I will just go with the 94006.

He also said that the cats wont make a very big sound increase, just better flow.. I dont understand that when everyone is having hi-flow cats installed and loving the sound increase. But I think i would be worth buying anyways for the better flow. Anything to boost economy up more.

Spend the money on custom tuning instead. WAY more worth it IMO.

Thats what I'm thinking of doing, May as well buy a CAI, the cats, and my Bilstein 5100s and order a custom tune for it all.

When I do buy the 94006s ( which is what I was planning to run a 2 cat system for ) later down the road if I could find someone to cut the pre-cats and just leave the 94006s in I could get the tune then too.

I got alot of questions for custom tuning so I will probably have to head over to those threads.

Thats exactly what the first guy told me. REally made me rethink, but then sure enough as soon as I got them on it is a huge difference in sound.

Thats really good to hear. I knew that sounded like b/s. The rear cats supposivly do the most sound resonation so replacing them should definitely help me out.

the guy at magnaflow is incorrect, i cut my rear cats off and no CEL, they are unmonitered it makes no difference,so it shouldn't matter if you replace your rears, i noticed a big difference in sound, i actually picked up some mpg's,

Exactly. I wanted to run the 9" body cats not the 12"s. I would most prefer to cut my rear cats out completely and just run the pre-cats but I dont want to damage my computer.
