you said that your accel. was different did it get worse or better.

my right exhaust manifold has a couple cracks in it and i need to change it out. i got the tickin noise from a leak and i guess its from that i want to re do my whole exhaust. do you think i should just get headers or just replace the one manifold with a new oem one

if you replace your manifolds with Long tubes you will have a completly different exhuast set up. You will need high flow cats *if you want them* and a new Y-pipe. Its up to you if you want just the stock manifold or Longtubes witch will add power but also add noise. i my self like my truck very loud so i like the power i gained with my longtubes and also the sound.

if you run pipes all the way to the back of your truck it will sound good but if you dump the pipes it will be very loud in the cab. mine is dumped right after the crossmember and its very loud in the cab. i went on a 2 n half hour trip and i almost fell asleep bc of the noise from the pipes. but i think if you run the pipes out the back ull be ok.

Ha, it definitely got better! Whats also dramatic is how fast the rpm's run up now.. We're not talking race car here, but for my truck, i was impressed.

Your situation is much like mine.. I just had to replace one manifold cause of an O2 sensor problem. Thing is, if you go the OEM route, its basically as much as putting in new long tube headers.. When I called ford, the material for just the ONE side of the engine - stock manifold, gasket, studs.. They wanted $350. They also quoted 6-7 hours of labor for that ONE side.. and you know thats what you would be paying even if it took them 30 minutes. The pacesetter longtubes were $285 for both sides (yes, there are better brands than pacesetter, but for the price, I think they are worth it, and I don't think its possible to get worse than stock). New cats were $160 (but you can recycle your old cats for almost a complete wash), gasket and studs, $50.. Labor cost me alot, but I think I ended up getting both sides done, with new cats, and with Long tubes, for the same price it would have been to have ford replace one stock manifold with another stock manifold -- so it was almost a no brainer for me. However, there was a nice guy on this board that offered to sell me his barely used stock manifold for $50.. you do the work yourself, and you could have your problem solved for maybe $100 and some of your time.. but you won't get an upgrade out of it!

If we go with the pacesetters L/T's they need to be ceramic coated? JetHot is only 2 hours from us. Should the OBX L/T's be coated or not?

The Stillen L/T Headers on my Nissan Titan are stainless and ceramic coated, I have seen some S/S headers get surface rust on them, but it just wipes off.

Anyone have any pics. of the OBX installed and with some miles on them?

Got mine in yesterday. If i can get them in there with the studs im not gonna try and take them out. studs are better than bolts anyway. Hopefully it will be done next week.
