Header Help

2000 f150, xcab, 5.4L.
What brand and style, short or long tube, of headers are you guys running?
What brands to stay away from? Any fitment issues? Where to buy?

this has been talked about alot....Dynatechs are top of the line they are stainless steel and run you about 1,000-1,500 for a pair of headers..... Pacesetters are just steel and will rust they run you about 288 bucks a pair of headers.....OBX are stainless but made in china and some people have complained about bad welds they run you about 500 i think....Get long tubes dont get shortys i got shortys didnt notice a diff over stock manifolds when i put on my long tubes i felt seat of the pants diff. in power... most poeple with 5.4L are seeing about 45HP and 40Ftlbs of TQ.

Im running pacesetter longtubes on my truck and i love them wish i woulda bought them frist i bought them online from http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/de...P40702227.html ........Even thoe i have the 4.6L and 2WD those fit my truck just fine. no probs at all. Good luck if you have any more questions feel free to ask

45HP are you serious? that sound pretty high for just a set of headers.....but hopefully i'm wrong.

i sell pacesetter and gibsons... at the time i didn't know about pacesetters headers for our trucks. the gibson ceramic coated headers for our trucks are nice... had mine for about 4 years so far and still look new.....

looking into the pacesetter now.. $245 for black headers aren't bad. the armor coated ones are about $369. my gibsons ran about $590

yeah i forget who did it someone dynoed before and after and got about that. it also depends on the set up you have behide the headers. i dynoed my 4.6L with shortys and got 190HP and 234 Ft lbs and i have yet to go back and dyno it again. i know i made gains im not sure how much but i felt seat of the pants diff. witch if i rember right is 20HP i think. but i got the 4.6L the 5.4's get more HP and TQ outta headers then the 4.6's i highly recommend doing this i love the way my truck sounds...my set up is in my sig...The video is my shortys with down pipes its not my long tubes.

Thumbs up

Ok

I will be installing OBX long tubes on my 2000 scab two wheel drive truck tomorrow, they fit two and four wheel drive trucks part# 129910.

The GOOD!

Well made headers great weilds, heavy, good clamps!

The Bad!

no converters, resonators instead, will need a donut to seal header to y pipe, no header bolts.

Cannot post pictures, not enough posts by me.
Will let everybody know how it went on install job.
Bought off ebay from racingpartsdepot. $527.00 to my door!

says offroad only because it replaces your Cat's witch on emission controled trucks *cough cought our F-150's* is illgeal unless there offroad trucks. It is pretty loud i have dynomax bullets and yeah there pretty loud i also have cut-outs so i can go open headers when i wanna i saw a small increase in MPG's. i think they would sound good with Super44's. Pacesetters are good i had there shortys on for 3 years and they did just fine threw michigan winters and evetything thats why i recommend them so much. 3 years of michigan salt and winter then the hott summers and muddding countless times getting mudd baked on the headers. just my .02cents with pacesetters

now will long Tube headers require you to modify your exhaust? or do they still connect to the same pipe?

For those of you who have installed long tube did you have to do anything special other than bolt them up?
