I lost low end torque with the Flowmaster on my last truck (sound was great but lost to much power).........I went with the Maggie on my latest truck and did not lose any low end torque, and the sound is good (actually has very little drone compared to Flowmaster).

I went with the Flowmaster SIDO. I have the pipes coming straight out the back, but have to admit that if I had it to do over again, I would get the pipes to exit at the corners as opposed to straight out the back. I have used Flowmaster mufflers on my 95 T'Bird, my '02 Mustang and now on The Phantom. I can't really say anything on the Magnaflows because I have not actually used them. I can tell you the Magnaflow looks nicer than the Flowmaster (IMO) but I have not personally heard one on a similar vehicle that I could make a comparison with. Pics are in my gallery if you would like to see my set up.

my vote goes to the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system, I have it on my 5.4L F250 and its got a real deep tone on the idle, and taking off at 3,000rpms sounds like taking off at 6,000rpms so its definatly worth it, real head turner & gasoline saver! I got a SIDO side exit, on the F250 the side exit looks the best, but on a F150 side exit looks stupid, but i cant wait to get the American Thunder system on my F150!

This has been well documented even in the mustang world AND the truck world. Heck, the latest Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords issue did an install on a mustang with Flowmasters new 3" mustang system. I read it, in the hopes that I would see that they fixed the torque loss problem. What happened?? What do you think?? It gained a whole 10hp and lost 10ft. lbs. of torque. So yep, Flowmasters are STILL losing torque. Why do you think the Mustang community started calling them Slowmasters??
In my opinion, if I'm going to spend the money, I want all that I can get from the system. That is....great sound AND great performance. For me, Flowmaster doesn't fit that bill. Magnaflow, Borla and all your straight through mufflers do.

I had my heart set on buying a Flowmaster system and was all set to storm into the local dealer and throw 300 bucks at him when I started looking into other mods that I was thinking of doing. That lead me here, then to Troyer. I called and talked with Crystal about my plans and got some pricing. I was told by her that Mike recommends Magnaflow because of a loss of low-end torque with the Flowmasters.
I then found a local Magnaflow dealer, added another 150 to the exhaust budget and have been a happy camper ever since.
My only regret is that I don't like the tips I have on it. I have the 45-degree slash cut tips. I now wish I had the 15-degree rolled edge tips. Oh well... ya live and ya learn, right?

I installed the magnaflow 16612 SISO system on my 06 FX4 screw. It is not really all that loud. It has a deep rumble on start up but you can barely hear it going down the highway. I like the looks of the kit and I personally didn't want an extremely loud pipe, so it worked for me. I also do alot of towing so I wanted the side exit.

Come on man how can u notice 10 hp. I only noticed gains from my chip and a little torque from my efans. I am going with previous statements of you cant expect noticeable gains from a muffler. Only thing I noticed from my muffler was the sound. I dont c any seat of the pants gain from a muffler.
