Bolt-on exhaust for '05 Screw FX4

Hey gang,
I have a new '05 Supercrew FX4 5.4L, what do you guys recommend for a cat-back exhaust that works with all factory hangers. I'm looking to enhance sound(nice growl, not obnoxious cabin noice cruising on the highway) and breathability before I make any mods to the engine. All opinions welcome.

Just had my SIDO Magnaflow installed at a local muffler shop. The kit didn't exactly fit right and the hangers the kit came with were supposed to be bolted but there were no holes to do that so they had to weld them to my frame. I did order the correct kit for the 04/05 truck.

I will say that even with the problems (which would have been much worse if I had attempted to install in my driveway) I'm extremely happy with the final product. The exhaust was rather quite but after a few miles of driving has settled into a very nice sound that isn't overbearing. NO DRONE.

ummm, 5" is too much for anything other than a diesel that is hopped up to the point of running 11-second quarter miles.

98% of the diesel pickup trucks will benefit greatly from a good 4" turbo-back system. This will aid in performance and mostly keeping the EGT's (exhaust gas temperatures) down when under load. 5" wouldn't hurt, but is in no way necesarry on these (diesel) trucks. A 5" exhasut on a gasser would be absurd. 2.5"-3" should be sufficient.

Just installed my Magie SISO 16612

I just installed my Magie SISO (kit 16612) for my 05 SCREW. I would highly recommend it. Took me about an hour and 15 minutes, fit great and sounds perfect. I would recommend reading the forums on exhaust and follow the recommendations of those who have installed these systems before - it sure saved me allot of time. First thing I did was cut the tail pipe off just behind the muffler, and then lubed all the rubber hangers with white lithium. The old system came right out and the new one bolted in with only one minor adjustment to the rear hanger bracket. I bent it ever so slightly to allow more clearance to the spare tire.

Good luck

The Banks exhaust is a 3 inch pipe and a 5 inch tip.

I realy like my flo.s.

When you get pic.s of the 5in banks please post, I think that tip might look akward on a smaller truck, I hope it doesn't. But they seem ok on a 250 probaly a little big on the 150.

I installed an Edelbrock cat back on my 97 a year after I bought it new. Really helped on the low end, very easy to install. Tailpipe came behind the rear wheel instead of in front like Ford had it so added 1 hanger included with the kit. 67k miles later still solid as a rock and sounds great.

corsa

I am getting a new F-150 in three weeks. First thing I am doing is putting on a corsa exhaust system. Nice sound at the stop light but quite on the road. It isnt cheap, but that is the cost of silence.

Like the Gibson dual extreme that exits behind each rear wheel!
