I'm not on here too much so if this has already been discussed sorry.

After reading posts here as well as researching information on line, I've decided on the Magnaflow System SI/DO rear exit #15834 for my 2004 Supercrew.

I first looked on the Magnaflow site which listed a few dealers here in town that they suggest to use. I called them for pricing and not only do they not have it in stock yet, they're telling me it's not even available yet and when it is available, the cost to buy and install the system is between $650 - $700. OUCH! I looked on line and found Troyer Performance, Performance Peddlers, and Hott Exhaust all have the system at $479.85 with free shipping. Now, Hott Exhaust (.com) also has free installation. I called them. They told me for that system they will pay $71.98 towards installation (or if I do it they'll just pay me the money). They said once the installation is complete, I let them know and they mail me a check. I called a few places in town who said they'll install the system if I brought it to them, no problem. One installation was $84.50 the other was $71.50.

Bottom line is the system on line is cheaper AND if this is the "real deal" with Hott Exhaust then my installation is going to be free. Questions I have are has anyone installed this system on their 2004 (or 2005) truck? How is it that it's available on line but not at any local shops? And, has anyone ever heard of Hott Exhaust and used them? I've read a lot of you used Troyer Performance before so they must be legit. Hott Exhaust is in Canada and they told me they ship out of California.

I read you article and now have a few more questions. Where do you see that they give free install? I have a 97 F-150 and my plan was to order the Magnaflow SI/SO for the 4.6L from TP. This hott exhaust company has the exact same price as TP but if they will cut me a check for the install that would be my cheepest way. I know TP is not a scam shop and if I can find that this place is not either I will be more than Happy to do business with them. Let me know how your purchase turns out.

 

The ad for the free installation is on the upper part of the home page. It's good thru January 31st, 2005. I called them today and they said once the work is done, you let them know, and they will send you a check for the maximine determined price they decide. Just give them a call. John is the guy I spoke to. I was wondering about this place just because I've not heard from them and I've heard of Troyer Performance. I was hoping someone else would post about the experiences they've had with either of the two companies and how much it cost them as well. Let me know what you decide and good luck.

 

Hott Exhaust is the real deal. I ordered the same system you are looking at akita. It was 383.00 to my door and $75.00 at the local shop for the install. Great system, sounds awesome.

 

That's a pretty good price crittergitter. They have the system advertised at $479 with free shipping. I wonder why you got it so much cheaper? The $479 is the cheapest I've found it.

 

There was a online coupon code I found and used.

I'm not sure if it still works but you can try it online and see.

Go to hottexhaust.com and pick the system you want and select add to cart.....another screen will pop up and in the middle of the page in tiny white letters it will read " click here to enter coupon"
enter the coupon number and it will adjust the price. Hope this helps

I recommend calling Performance Products, not just lookign at their web site. Most people have gotten better prices than advertised.

Very cool critter. I'll check it out tonight. Just might have to order it from them. Sounds like they should be the real deal. I'm assuming those of you who have this system (#15834) really like it. Have not heard a negative word yet!

I really researched exhausts before I decided on the Magnaflow and I am VERY happy with it.

No complaints about Hott exhaust either.....and the girl that answers the phone has a cute little accent too which always helps a sale !!!

Hey, did you guys who ordered the 15834 system using the on line coupon from HottExhaust find out if they'll also still honor the reimbursment for the installation? Just wondering if you've checked or not. I'm going to order mine later today or tomorrow. Can't wait!

Got a call today from John at Hottexhaust and he said they won't do both the 20% off coupon and the install reimbursement. That's OK, I'll settle for the coupon and free shipping.
