Flowmaster vs. Magnaflow (and everyone else)

I had the 40 series flowmasters on a '99 dodge 1500 and it sounded good... I now have a '03 F150 4.6 and I need a muffler that sounds as good or better. I was going to go with the flowmaster 40, but I think I want to change that up. I don't know anything about the magnaflow, just read about it on this site. Any ideas?? I want it loud and powerful... I don't want to straight pipe it through...

I've heard both on the Ford's. The flowmaster 40 is louder than the magnaflow. I have the Aero Turbine which I think sounds better than both. Nice deep sound like the flowmaster when on the gas and quiet at cruise like the magnaflow. This is just my opinion and yes I know everyone else has a different one.

yea IM gonna stay with the flowmasters... but i don't know which series now. I looked them up on he webpage, but I also talked to two muffler shops in the area... one told me the 30's were louder than the 40's and the other one told me the 30's were quiter than the 40's and suggested the 10's if I wanted it louder... who is right???

I trudged through all the info I could on this site for about six months before making a decision on what exhaust to put on. Sooner or later you have to just pull the trigger and put a new exhaust on. ANYTHING is better than stock! Looking back I wasted alot of time on a decision that should've taken about ten minutes to make.

Happy Hunting

Dude just order up a Magnaflow muff and some ss tips, go down to your local muff shop and have them through it on, you won't be sorry. You will get increased performance and a great sound.

I also have an 03 4.6, and i put the 40 series SI/DO and it sounds great but not loud enough for me. So i am going with straight duals with two 40 series center in and center out, i am also going to add some 24" X 2.5 in and 4" out tips. will let you know what it sounds like.
