Super Truck Gotta Go!

Well I ve had the Gibson Super Truck for almost 5 years now and I've got to say that I absolutely love the sound of it. But it has broke twice on the inlet side of the muffler which I welded each time.
The problem I believe was the damper weight or whatever that thingamabob is. After I took it off I didn't have any more issue's with the pipe breaking from the muffler

Now however it seems that the baffles inside are separating and rattling. I've got way too many other projects going on right now and don't want to spend the cash for a new system so I'm thinking of just cutting out the Gibson muffler and welding in something because I still want my outlets to exit forward of the rear wheel. I just haven't decided what muffler. I need something light because the Gibson system doesn't have much support.

This is more of a wo is me but I'm open to suggestions.

I would do a flowmaster super 40 or delta flow 40.

Loud outside, very little sound inside unless you step on it. Mine exits the same place as yours and I have the delta flow 40.

Thanks guy's
I'm pretty leary of anything Flowmaster because of the reputation for resonance in the cab.
Magnaflow is a real possibility, I'll have to look into them. I want something noticeable but one that you can still be comforatble with at highway cruiseing speed.

Man I hate that the Gibson has been such a POS because it's the perfect sound.

Oh well, I'll try something after I get a few goodies for my brand new 2005 Harley Road King Custom OOOOH warm weather please come back!!!!

I just haven't decided what muffler.
Cut out your muffler and weld in a piece of straight pipe, or if you have dual tailpipes, have a Y pipe made at the shop and welded in. Should cost 25-40 bucks. Nice rumble from straight pipes, and if you dont like it, pick out a different muffler and have welded in.

I had the supertruck on my last truck, and cut off the muffler and replaced it with a "Y" at a local shop. Cost me $60, loud as ****, expect lots of resonance as well.

Give Gibson a call, mine rotted thruogh on the outlet side at the two 90,s. They wouldnt replace it because im in PA with snow and salt , but they gave me a good deal on the same system in stainless steel and it is working great.
By the way the original one lasted 6 years on my 97.

I've got a Borla cat back on my Mustang and no problems whatsoever (8yrs) but they're pricey. I guess you get what you pay for. In my opinion the Super truck wasn't worth the money for no longer that it's lasting.

Granted I love the sound but the quality has been less than spectacular. Whatever I get I think it'll be stainless steel.

I had my Magnaflow system installed this weekend at my local muffler shop. They had Flowmaster mufflers everywhere, but only 2 Magnaflows in stock. I don't know if he doesn't stock them or if he sells them that much. Oh, and most all the Flowmaster boxes were faded by the sun. Wonder how long they've been sitting there? My vote is also for the Magnaflow, hands down.
