Post SI/DO. Dual out behind the rear right tire.. ?

I am looking at a Single in, Ravin, Flow M whatever.., then duals out to both exit where the stock exit is. Behind the rear right tire angling out a bit. The question I have is what diameter pipe will fit? 2.5 or because of clearing the shock and tire will I have to go with 2.25" pipes? Also, if I went two mufflers, that would hurt my bottom end quite a bit, correct? Thanks!

Both Borla and Gibson have a rear dual side exit system. I believe they use 2 1/2" tubing with a single in/dual out muffler. I think that using two mufflers would kinda be a waste unless you dualed it out from the "Y". You could call Gibson and see if you could order just the tailpipes and use your own choice of muffler. Maybe tell them you had this system before and you were in a wreck and bent up the pipes now you just need replacements. I've thought about doing this myself so I can have nice mandrel bent pipes for a custom dual exhaust. Just a thought.

Hey thanks for the ideas! Sounds like the way to go for sure! I'd probably pay more to have someone bend the pipes for me and they wouldnt be mandrel bent. thanks again!

Cool

Elktagaz,

I've been reading that Game and Fish is thinking about an over the counter Elk tag for unit 12A(North Kaibab). If this passes and I don't get drawn for anywhere I might go for that. One G&F officer I spoke with at the boat show said that they do not want any Elk in that area so all of them must go. Good luck on your exhaust!

Flowmaster sells a universal tailpipe kit to do your own custom installation. Check it out.

V10,
Wow that would be sweet! It doesnt look good for me to get drawn this year, no points. But I have to be positive, unit 10 bull elk archery. . Let me know for sure if you get drawn or if you see anything else about this! I still cannot make my mind up on the exhaust..
Henry, thanks for the info on flowmaster pipes, I cant believe this is such a tough decision for me!! thanks!

It's kinda funny that you mention the thought of calling Gibson and asking about the pipes rearward of the muffler needing to be replaced due to an accident. That EXACT thing happened to me TODAY (Friday). There was a lady spinning 360's down the highway two cars in front of me that hit a concrete retaining wall and came to a complete stop. The truck in front of me hit his brakes going straight toward her. I hit my brakes and swerved left as close as I could to the retaining wall to get between it and the truck that was in front of me that was now to the front and to the right. The Pathfinder behind me tried the same thing as I did, except he swerved to the right trying to avoid me to the left. He could only go so far to the right due to other lanes of traffic and his front left tire caught the tips of my Gibson Dual Sport and bent my pipes where they go over the rear axle. What sucks is that I've only had that exhaust system on my truck for about a month now, which I installed myself. I was sore for almost a week after all of the climbing down and getting up and wiggling under the truck the entire time I was installing it, and now it's already messed up. It won't turn out that way this time, his insurance will be paying for a new system with professional installation.
