kill switch?

Guys, I'm trying to figure out what this button is, its been in my truck since I bought it and I haven't touched it, lol

I think its a kill switch, if it is, how do I use it? Thanks

Truck is an 08 4.6 FX2

Each of them are different, but that could be as simple as pushing the button. You won't know for sure unless someone recognizes that exact one or you play around with it. I've seen like 15 different ones, all wired different, activated differently.

Looks like a momentary switch. Cut your truck on, push it in, release, and see what happens..

Why don't you follow the wires? I'd die if I found some unknown switch in my truck, especially non oem.

Programming button for a remote start or alarm ?

I used the same type switch with my Ford silver remote start, but I mounted it nice in the kick panel by the hood release.


As jaws12 posted, time to follow the wires back to what it is connected to, don't make assumptions as to what it is.

Does the truck have an aftermarket alarm?
It could be a switch to turn the alarm off without using the remote.

That button it for an aftermarket alarm. It is a valet switch.

Hmm, I have a factory alarm and keyless entry... I guess ill follow it or crank her up and deploy parachutes... lol

I will let yall know... I had a lot of honey-do's today so no play time

DON'T touch it. It's the self destruct switch. LOL. Or it could be the EJECT button.

LoL, i still havent got around to seeing what it does.... too dam busy, the days keep getting shorter with age it seems...
