easist way to wire work lights?

I want to add a switch so i can flip on my reverse and cargo lights on demand, so at night loading/unloading i can see without having to leave the door open. where can i tap in to those circuits?

i have no idea how any of those circuits work or are wired? i think there both on relay circuits. I'll have to look up the diagrams in my haynes manual.

Why not just read the owner's manual & turn the **** to force the dome/cargo lights on?

did you not read the post..and that doesn't work..it doesn't turn on the cargo lights and turning on the cab lights makes it even harder to see if you want to turn on the work lights for backing up at night.

Fix your cargo lights, and install brighter backup bulbs, or aux backup lights.

Take the positive wire from any lights you wish to control, wire them to a switch, wire the switch to the battery and your good to go. That is the simplest way.

Dont wire anything over 50W without a relay.

Have the #86 pinout tied into your dome light wire

The switch feed in Raptor's diagram should go to the top of the fuse (the protected side).

NOT starting a pissing contest here BUT----

so far nobody seams to be reading the OP post, the wiring diagram has nothing to do with the question,

the OP is trying to control both the cargo and back up lights, these two curcuits have nothing in common,

to the OP, you will need to install a switch and control 2 relays (1 for cargo and 1 for back up lights) so you can prevent cross connecting.

fuse each input to the relay from the batt. these curciuts are fused but if you add another power source and there is a short, it will continue to get power from unprotected source so make sure you fuse every thing.

then take the output side of relay to the lights, use a 3rd fused source to control relays with a switch.

i will look into were to tie in to pick up curcuits and add post if i can find it.

it might be easier to tie in the back up lights right at the rear bumper.

That's exactly what i'm trying to do. All i need to know is the physical place where those wires are for the cargo lights.

i looked up the wiring for mine (05) - assuming it's the same, this is what i found.

back up lights - wire is dark green and yellow goes to central junction box pin #12

cargo light - it is wired to the interior lights, wire is black and light blue, the harnes runs into the doors for the mirror lights, so it's under the dash some where, wire no. is 53 , you should be able to find it around the drivers side under dash. according to alldata.
