Factory Remote Start not working 07 F150, help

Ok I have looked for hours to find a post with the same symptoms as mine with no luck. I have now sold truck to a friend and upgraded to an 09 but told him I would get remote start figured out.

The truck will acknowledge when I press the blue start button with one chirp, then it will go through all the motions like it is going to start (everything is on as if you were to turn key to run position), next it gives off one chirp and doesn't crank and all lights, dash etc. stay on.

I had to replace the truck battery last summer and hadn't really tried it until the weather got cold. I would assume when the battery was changed out something got screwed up but the trouble shooting guide starts at two chirps and I am only getting one.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

If it is the factory silver or Gold, it is press the lock button, then the blue key button to remote start.

Just pressing the blue key button is for when the truck is already running, and you want to exit the truck with the keys and leave it running ( think it is called quick stop ). When using this function, the parking lamps will turn back on and the horn will honk 1 time, just like the confirm after remote starting.

Try pressing the lock and then the blue key button and see if it starts.

Ok 3 things to add.....

1) B2 you are lucking I found this post as I was about to be sitting on your door step this evening looking for answers

2) The above locking the doors first method does not work. Same results.

3) When the truck has been manually started you can indeed use the quick stop method and it works fine.

Any other suggestions?

The simple next thing I would look at is the hood tilt switch.

Should be able to make and break the connection to ground, could be rusted a bit, and the truck thinks the hood is up.

Check the Hg tilt switch to make sure the bracket is not bent ( thinking the hood is open ).

Mine is ~ 15* down tilt from the hood to the tilt switch, and I can open the hood ~ 16" and the engine will still start ( hood needs to be all the way up to stop the start process ).

Other questions:
1. when you start the truck, are the stop lamps on ?
2. Have you pressed the program / valet button ( is the RMST / RMST-VSS in programming mode ? )
3. IS the system a Silver or Gold ( VSS - Vehicle Security System or not )

Checked the hood switch and all appears fine. The system will acknowledge the hood being open by two horn chirps when a start is attempted.

All running and interior lights come on when the remote start is pressed. I have put it in and out of valet mode serveral times each getting confirmation with 6 horn chirps.

I have no clue if it is silver or gold....

I do not believe the dome light was ever changed and it does not appear to be a LED.

Ok I want to bump this to the top. Anybody else have any suggestions?

I stopped by a local dealer and a service tech looked quickly and told me that I needed to have both keys and put them in one after another turning both to ON and then when the light goes from solid to off, do the other one. He said this would reprogram the keys and chips.

Tried it several times with no success. Anyone? Anyone?

My truck is having the same problem.... It isn't the hood sensor or brake because that gives off two horn chirps... not a pats issue b/c it won't crank with the factory key near the ignition.

When I hit Lock then Start butting it will chirp and then continue to cycle the start process several times but will never start.... any help would be much appreciated.
