Might have the answer for you...after some research, it seems like some of the earlier securilock interface module has a small 'antenna' which circles the ign. switch and the very small wires will break on some earlier units. The part has been revised, Part # 8L3Z-19G365-BA Interface kit 4.4. My 07 has the same symptoms as above. Picked up the new module from the local dealer for about $45 and change..Tasca has them for $33.00 + shipping. Will be installing this tomorrow, will report back how things go. Still needs to be programmed with the two key method.

Mine would go through all the motions after pressing the button, lights, all locks, radio came on, fuel pump cycled, but no start, also the 'pats' light was blinking rapidly (that was a clue) then....nothing. Had one beep at the beginning and that was all. The blinking PATs light was telling that no key was found to start, then I did some researching and came up with what I found..anyway, will know tomorrow.

SUCCESS.....the new module solved the problem. Took a couple of tries to get the new module programmed to the PATs system, but that was the only issue. Found the broken wire in the little round antenna. I won't take the credit for this, most of what I learned came from "http://kcautosound.com/". I was thinking of having to replace the entire system, but, after talking to them on the phone I was given a 'heads up' on this problem with the earlier unit. KUDOS go to kcautosound for the good information and advice.

awesome! do you have any pics of the broken module? What steps did you have to do to get the new one working?

Here is the picture of where the broken wire is..it's a very tiny wire and doesn't show up well in the pic.

I went through the sequence of programming keys as per the manual (2 working keys on off, rinse - repeat) then you are supposed to use the remote within the time as if you were going to do another key. First try didn't work After a couple of times of just pushing the remote it finally recognized the new module.....been fine ever since.

will do!

Question though, would your truck start if you held the key near the ignition while trying the remote start?

No, that will not work. Tried that. What you will get is a 5 beep error code, reason being is that the module expects input from the 'Secuilock' Interface unit when activated. When a key is present the Remote unit sees two keys present and errors out, I would guess the conflict comes with the remote and the Pats system using two key inputs.

Smile F150 Lauriat Factory Remote - Possible Fix

Gentlemen:
I am not a mechanic. I have a factory installed remote (2006 F150 Lauriat 5.4L). It has alwyas worked until this week. Remote key Blue button pushed, lights go on, carr horn beeps once, doors lock, accessories start, dash lights come on, but no engine start. Touching brake peddle cancels everything, as if truck were running, but key was not in ignition. Without remote, using key, engine starts.

Someone suggested removing Battery Terminal. I tired it - no joy.
I have not read the manual, but I applied the following procedure.

To start the engine you do the following: (1)Insert the engine key into the ignition. This is sometimes called Position I. (2)Turn the key to Accessorie, or Position II. (3)Turn the ignition key to position III, which starts the ignition process (dash panel lights up) but do not engage the starter, Position IV. Go from position II to III, count to 5 and turn key back to position II. Repeat 3 times. Finally, return key to position I and remove. Now use remote to start engine. I believe this resets the Factory Remote. No guarantees but it worked for me.

Again, use only Positions II and III with key, count to 5 - slowly and return key to Position II. Repeat 3 times. Turn key to position I, remove key and use remote to start vehicle. Please let me know if this helps. Again, this is a Factory Installed Remote.
Good Luck.

You are pressing the blue key button or the lock then blue button ?

Pressing the blue button only is the function for the quick stop, where if the engine is running, and you want to keep it running without the keys in, you press the blue button. The horn honks once ( and the parking lamps will turn back on ), and you can turn the key to the off position and remove the key, but the engine will continue to run.
- Basically it puts everything back to the remote start function, but does not engage the starter as the engine should already be running.

Lock then blue button is the remote start sequence on a Ford remote start.
This should

Which remote start is it ( Bronze, Silver or Gold ) ?

Not too sure what that key sequence is to be doing.
Key cycles are generally used for erasing all then add in factory remote lock RKE fobs, but this is 8 cycles in 10 seconds and off to run.
To do anything with the remote start, you need to enter programming mode with the function button on the remote start unit.
Depending on the installer this might be hidden behind the dash or kick panel with the status LED.
