As I said: I only posted that diagram for wire colors - not for the LCM.Yep.

My mistake I looked at a CV diagram in my 1996 album.
The wire color is not the same from the CV to the 04-08 ( maybe 97-03 also ? ) instrumentation illumination,

The kind of look like that, think there is a thread in the technical articles forum that shows both headlamp switch connectors from the 04-08 MY F-150.

Quick question, SSCULLY. Do I need an in-line fuse anywhere?

put an inline fuse between the lights you are adding and the output of the dimmer switch.

This way if you have any issues with what you are adding, your instrumentation illumination should not go dim.

Make sure it is fused less than the instrumentation illumination fuse ( 5A ).

ARGHHHHHH!!! Spent a good part of the last 3 hours working on this. Did everything you said. Checked and double checked. Did not work. . So bummed. Put the dash back together and gave up. Guess I'll try to tackle it again some other day.

If you know anything that may have caused an issue, let me know.

I don't mean to jack the OP's thread, but the original question applies to me, too.

I'm looking to hardwire the V1 into the ceiling console on a 2011 SCrew Lariat with sunroof. So, am I looking for a white/Lt Blue power connection and a black/Lt Blue ground? Any tricks to getting to these wires in the console?

BTW, looking back at my notes from my 2001 F-150 installation, those were the directions from SSCULLY and Patman03SprCrw back in 2006 on this forum. Good to see you guys are still around, and still helping us students.

Barry

Bk/LB isn't a standard Ford ground color, and I don't see it mentioned on this page, so double-check where you read that.

I don't have 2011 EVTMs to know for sure, and the 2009-10 MY is different from the 2011 MY, so the best I could offer is a guess if the wire is the same.

Been looking on eBay for a used service DVD, but they have not been out in droves as in the past.

Apparently it was - see below. Trying to find out if I can do the same installation on my new 2011.

You're welcome

Thats because Ford discontinued the DVD program in 09, and went to online based services, based on the cost of the DVD program, and the number of new vehicles with ever expanding diagrams for all the new technology.

I pulled the overhead lights/switches, and there are two block connectors attached to them.

The 3-pin block is for the map lights, but since they work without the key, not what I want for the radar detector.

The other is a 12-pin block for the sunroof/rear window controls with (9) wires -
Large:
blue, black w/yellow stripe, yellow w/red stripe, and,
Small:
purple, white w/green stripe, purple, purple w/brown stripe, purple w/white stripe, yellow w/red stripe.

The rear view mirror has a bundle of wires that go into the head liner right there, too, but I can only access the blocks that attach to the switches without removing the head liner.

Any suggestions?

Barry

C915 has 12 pins for the OHC, but the colors in my '01 F150 EVTM don't match your list.
