Overhead Console Questions

Ive given up hope on finding what im looking for. Ive spent a good hour searching both here and out on the web with no prevail.

What i am looking for is directions on how to remove my overhead console and what wires are positive and negative.

I am gonna try to hard wire my radar detector into the power for my compass/ temp display in the overhead console.

I have a 2003 SuperCrew XLT

If anyone has done this or knows where i can get the above information please please help me out.

Thanks,
-Patrick

I wired my V1 into the overhead console. Nothing wrong with this since the factory fuse (#23) is 10A. The Radar Detector draws about 1/2A. Plus it has a 1A fuse in the wire harness.

Run power wire is White with a Light Blue stripe.
Ground is Black with a Light Blue stripe.

Note these colors are from a 2000 F150. Using a multimeter and checking volt/ground is a very good idea.

The console is held up by a single screw up front. The back just pops out.

I love this website!

yea got it all to work. Same black with blue and white with blue, there was actually two blacks with blue stripes. but i figured it would be the one right below the power....
Its nice, now i can just leave my detector on all the time and when the motor turns off so does the detector.
Thanks for the help,
-Patrick
