This is how I mounted my V1 in my 2006

I used a body hammer & dollys to shape the AL flat stock to the shape and contour of the headliner, keeping the V1 up high.
When I got the shape correct, I drilled a hole in the flat stock to line up with the visor clip mount, could have used the windshield mount, but I would have more bending to do to get the angle correct.

It is not the prettiest thing, but I had the flat stock at home, so all it took was the time.
The visor still drops down, due to having the V1 far enough forward.

What radio fuse do I use? I looked in the manual and fuse box and there seems to be 2-3 that have something to do with the radio. :o

Sorry, the fuse that powers the radio in the accessory delay position is fuse F22.

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the info, SSCULLY! Did it this past weekend and it Worked pretty good. However the add-a-fuse wire sticks out and doesn't allow the fuse box cover to be put back on. Could easily cut a notch in the cover probably but not really wanting to do that.

Post all tech questions here in your original thread.

Ford typically uses the same color for a given circuit/function over a wide range of years & models, so use this:

Note at the far lower R, pin 12 (Or/Bk) is the PWM circuit. Connect your LED (+) to that and its ground to any ground. Look for that wire color in anything on the dash that gets controlled by the panel dim switch.

The rest of that diagram doesn't apply to your truck; just the some of the wire colors. And if that one is different, SSCULLY or PatMan or someone else will probably post the correct color soon.

Oh, thanks for the heads up on the reply.

I've looked all over under the dash and don't see it anywhere. Do you have a diagram for my year truck?

LCM ( lighting Control Modules ) have not been used on F-150s since 1996 ( 1997 changed to the GEM, 2004 changed to individual devices ).

What wire are you looking for ?
The dimmer output should not be used to run the radar detector, unless you plan on never dimming the instrumentation illumination.

Back of the main headlamp switch, Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire is the output of the PWM on the 04-08 MY F-150.

There are 2 Light Blue w/ Red stripe wires in the connector on the back of the main headlamp switch.

One is in connector C205B ( smaller connector - 6 pin ?) the other is in connector C205A ( 12 pin connector for the headlamp switch ).

the Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire in C205B is the output of the PWM, the Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire in C205A is from the splice back to the switch for switch illumination ( so the switch lamp dims also ).

So you're saying it's on the back of the main light switch(left side of the dash) ? Do I just need to tap into that wire( and ground the black wire)?

'96 & older trucks never had any lighting module - all the lights are hard-wired to their control switches. The only exception was the RKE/AT module used from '94-96 that offered limited control over the dome & parking lamps just for those functions, but the hard-wired switches still worked as before even if the module was unplugged.

As I said: I only posted that diagram for wire colors - not for the LCM.

Yep. From SSCULLY's description, it sounds this pic:

Which of those 2 wires should I tap into, or does it matter?

I found both the wires, just don't have the tools with me to get it apart so I have room to work. Hopefully I can get it done this weekend.

Nope, both the same circuit.

the Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire in C205B is the output of the PWM, the Light Blue w/ Red stripe wire in C205A is from the splice back to the switch for switch illumination ( so the switch lamp dims also ).
