Ford Autolamp System
I have a 2000 F150 XLT. I studied the factory wiring diagrams very carefully and concluded that all the necessary wiring was included in my vehicle so I could install the autolamp function. I purchased (1) a new switch assembly (w/autolamp function), amplifier and dash cover (w/cutout for the sensor). All the wiring hooked up perfectly. Nada, the autolamp function does ot work. Any ideas? Do 150's w/autolamp function have a different GEM? If any of you electrical gurus have any ideas, I would be most appreciative!
did the same on mine it works perfectly! I too have a 2000 f150xlt. I don't know why yours is not working my amp part was yl3z-13a018-aa and the switch was sw-5558
yl3zb-11654-dab are these the parts you used?

Is there A fuse in the fuse box for that circuit? I'd start by looking for power at the autolamp module plug. My 97 electrical manual says pin #1 (end of plug with locating tab or as you would view it the locking clip on top) is hot in start or run, #4 is power and is always hot.

My 97 book shows fuse # 4 as the one for autolamp module along with the park lamp relay, headlamp relay, RAP module, and power mirror switch.

Got them to work yesterday! Rechecked my installation and I did not have the plug on the amplifier properly connected (was not pushed in all the way). Also, I found it necessary to do a small adjustment with the yellow screw on the amplifier. Thanks all! It is nice that Ford includes all the wiring in its vehicles. I've also installed the factory DRL's and they work great too. If you purchase the parts, be sure to furnish your dealer with your vehicle's date of manufacture. For example, my 2000 was built on 5/6/00. All vehicles built after 5/10/00 require a different headlamp switch. I don't know what the difference is, other than Ford's part #.
