Efan question.

Probably a longshot. Would an efan set up out of a 98 Taurus work for my 98 5.4L ? I have the car here on the trailer; it's leaving Saturday for the salvage yard. It has dual fans, -just curious if I could use it, if it's even worth pulling. (?)

Alright,- thanks buddy. I guess I'll grab everything then, -harness, fuse box, etc. Everything but the radiator itself. I'll get all the mount hardware as well.

Want anything lol ?

Ah crap, I grabbed the fans and the harness and had the radiator and shroud surround loose to where I just had to cut the hoses and lines, but failed to get that done. It would have made a mess.

I had someone else scheduled to haul my trailer w/car yesterday morning, so I had to let it go.

I'm not sure I can use these without the shroud surround and there wasn't controllers under the hood that I could find. They must have been under the dash.

The fans look nice,- heavy. One is a little larger than the other. I'll probably just opt for a Mark VIII kit I guess.

Can you snap a pic? We might be able to figure a way to mount these puppies.
AutoZone sells fan controllers for less than $40.00.

Iduno man, without the shroud they wouldn't do the job. I measured them, one is 13.5", the other 12.5". The Fans pulled out easy, just one bolt apiece. They sit in a cradle like deal made of hard plastic/ part of the shroud itself. Wish I would have had more time. BUT! I know where I could purchase a new shroud if it was worth it.

BTW- My daughter and a few of her friends decided to help pillage that poor car, - now I have to find room for that crap. I should have let her goofball friend use the sawzall, he wanted to in a bad way, but I said nahhh. He would have cut on thing forever, if I let him -kids a nut..

I'm going check out the 98 Taurus electrical set up for this, - I know , I should have done that already, - I want to see where the controllers are hidden, -if it had any. ?

So the A/C has a deticated fan, and the engine has a two speed fan?
Am I reading that right, or am I missing a second power supply for the A/C fan?
It's a shame you missed out on that set up.

Just pull the shroud from a U-pull parts place. should be pretty cheap.

PCM controls the relays. Both fans come on at once. PCM decides when and speed.

They look too small to pull enough CFMs for your size engine. Stick 'em behind the condenser and wire them into the clutch power wire and enjoy your Antarctic A/C

Yea, thought that was strange they both splice together. - Made sense when I found only one pin (PCM) for both.

Woods-Rider

No boneyards around here, -not anymore. I have that dual core radiator in this one, - those fans look tiny I do have a 130 amp alt, actually, I think the one I pulled from the car is a 130 as well, -it was in the schematics and it did have 4awg running to a 175 amp MegaFuse.

Raptor

I think your right, to small. Out of curiosity, I'm going to measure the fans in the Lincoln today.- Pretty sure it has two.

Tumba

What?? Oh, - Cheers

One relay for a single speed on the one fan, and two ralays for the 2 speed fan.
I was just trying to figure out, why the three relays. It made me think the one fan ws deticated to the condenser. Since it was called the A/C clutch reley. But the PCM controls them both. OK
