Was looking around to see what battery fit my truck, been having some trouble.
2006 f150 FFV v8 fx4

I just want an optima that I plug in play. No adapter plates, no check hood clearance. If any of you know what model I need or what model you have that fits my qualifications, Id really appreciate.

 

You are foolish to buy that expensive Optima when an Interstate is just as good of a battery if not better at half the price.

 

half? interstate is 20 bucks cheaper. cranking amps is 2/3 of optima.

 

when you figure this out let me know what you think of the battery and how it performs. im looking at a new one and i was eyeing ones with cca's around 1100. its suppose to be a cold winter up here in canada.

 

The batteries I buy at Costco have a higher CCA and reserve rating than OEM and ARE half the price of an equivalent Optima from Costco. I honestly don't see the advantage in using an Optima.

if you run aftermarket electronics, stereo or lights, than an optima is excellent idea.

Get the one at autozone. It fits. I think its D74 or something. They have a rebate right now too.

 

right now im running a head unit, cb radio, siren and 2 pa's. not much else. whats the costco brand battery?

 

It's Kirkland - made for Costco by some "Name Brand" battery manufacturer, but I don't know who that is, might even be Interstate. The one I have in my car has a 100 month prorated warranty and 36 month free replacement. I can't see what the one in my truck is warranted for, because it's covered up by Ford's battery shroud.

One thing I especially like about Costco is they honor this warranty just on your say so - no shop tests or hassles when you say it's failed.
