Hid problem
I have a 2006 lincoln mark lt truck, i just installed a set of h13 hid bi-xenon 8000k lights for my headlights, and a h10 hid 8000k xenon kit for my fog lights.
The relay that came along with the package was pretty basic, everything was "plug and play" as most conversion kits state.
Everything lights up good and they look great, the only problem that i am having is that when i have my low beams on, and i pull my headlight switch to turn my foglights on, it automatically kicks my high beam lights on, my fog lights stay on also. I cant shut my high beam's off unless i turn my fog lights off.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem? Thanks!

It sounds like the kit you have did not take into account that the fog lamp relay coil derives ground from the high beam element. I don't have time to test a realy, but I am guessing that when you close the fog lamp switch, and apply power to one side of the coil, the plug and play kit is sensing this, and not only able to provide ground ( high potential ground that is ) to the fog lamp relay coil, but it also enough to ignite the ballast for the HID kit.
If you change where the fog lamp relay gets ground from, this might cure your problem from looking at the EVTM on fog lamps

I seem to recall this coming up before, but do not know if the ground change to the fog lamp relay coil cured the problem ( could be another issue, not HIDs ? )

sscully you are a genius, thanks for the reply, i was at the end of ideas and frustrated with dealing with these companies on how to fix this problem. None of them had really heard of this problem before, some also suggested resisters to fix the issue.
I followed your diagram, and everything hooked up perfect, as a added bonus my fog lights now stay on with my highbeams !
