Help, my horn doesnt shut off

2003 FX4:

Constant horn sound, tried locking\unlocking\panic on the keychain, tried starting it, tried pushing on the horn at the steering wheel, after I woke up the whole neighborhood saturday night I just disconnected the battery, then pulled the fuse for the horn and thats where I'm at now.

I had the steering colum apart a couple weeks ago to hardwire my sirius, ended up breaking off the black\pink wire. It lead to a small plastic connector up into the ignition, I figure this is the keysense wire, I dont know if this has anything to do with the horn stuck on or what. I broke that wire a few weeks ago, the horn never stuck on untill last weekend.

So any ideas of what the heck is going on? Like I said it doesnt seem like some kind of security system thing because the horn doenst do the honk, honk, honk, thing, it just stays on constant. I also have had the horn stick a little when I honked at a little old lady driving a buick one time but I just hit it again and it shut off.

It sounds like in Dumb and Dumber when Lloyd says "want to hear the most annoying sound in the world...EEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" but amplified 100 times. My neighbors must hate me.

Happened to me, my security box i think it is on the back wall got water in it and fried. Soon after the horn my lights and everything went haywire. Mine is an 04 though.

ive read about it too. apparently, and so this other guy says, it you take the wheel apart and find the contacts for the horn, they are corrorded in salt.

heres the link, you can find out more directly from him

02SC4x4: Thanks a bunch for posting that link! I'll try taking it apart this weekend. it was really cold that night when it first happened and the next morning when I worked on it a little, so hopefully it's something similar. Now if I can just fix this problem without something else happening like my wheels constantly spinning even in park, or windows automatically going up and down we'll be good. I'm crossing my fingers though.

Jumping in to old thread... Few weeks ago I noticed that the horn in my 2003 XL does not work anymore, so I checked the fuses and found that 20A fuse had blown up. Bought a new fuse, but when installed the horn was stuck! At this point both high and low pitch horns were OK. I went and pulled the fuse off.

Yesterday I had some time to investigate the issue a bit more. I disconnected the clockspring connector C218b, put it back on and installed the fuse. The horn was silent and when pushing the horn on the steering wheel only high pitch horn was working. I pushed the horn on the steering wheel couple of more times and it worked fine. I left the truck on the driveway. Then few hours later the horn started to blow by itself! Pushed the steering wheel, but no help. I had to pull the fuse off.

Today removed and cleaned C218b and the horn connector C131 with WD-40, installed them back and horn is working fine.

Any ideas? Could it be the clockspring going bad? Or the salt issue mentioned above?
I have not yet digged deeply to disassemble the airbag etc.

Obviously I need to buy new set of horns (2L3Z13832AA) since the low pitch horn does not work.

The story continues:
When I closed the hood, the horn started to blow again. Now the fuse is off for good. Obviously I need to disarm & remove the airbag it to check the connectors.

F150 horn contantly blows

My 2009 F150 started blowing horn today for no apparent reason. Continuous and had to be stopped by tapping horn on steering wheel. 30 seconds later going again.. Long story-short.... I messed with fuse to horn (fuse box under hood) took it out pushed it in, did the same with other fuses too.... Wiggled..... Seems to have solved the problem for me.... Had to post this after other things I read trying to figure it out.
Try that first....I wasn't about to mess with airbag.
