Help. I have lost my keys to my F150. Can I call a stealership and give the the VIN and can they make s set of keys for me? It's like 60 miles to the nearest Ford place I can trust. Any and all help and advice is appreciated.
I believe a locksmith would be your best bet. I have had Ford keys made before and a locksmith was much cheaper than a dealership. Also, locksmiths vary quite a bit in price. Call your trusted dealership and ask for an estimate and then call several locksmiths and ask them for estimates. Don't forget to mention to the locksmiths that your vehicle is equiped with PATS.
Got it done to day. $38.08. Don't know how much the tow bill was. I will never see the bill. Insurance takes care of that. Installed H72PTO :TRANS KEY 1@10.64. Worked performed by Roger Marshall $24.00. shop supplies $1.20. Tax $2.24. This is a lot better than I thought it would be. NKENN Thank you.

I think that I will have just a key for the door underneath some place. Most people would put the key under the driver side in the frame so you would not want it there. Then have a 'pats' key some place in the cab. To me that seems the safest way.
I put mine under the bed rail that way it gets less abuse from the elements, plus if it falls it ends up in the back of the truck and you have a chance to tape it back up, a friend of mine stashed a key for his truck under the cab and when he needed it he found that it had fallen off sometime in the previous 4 years.
