Cruise Control not working (yes i did the self test)

A little over a year after the recal on the switch was done my cruise control stopped working. Originally i would hit the button and nothing would happen, the light would not even blink.

A few weeks later i tried it again and the cruise light blinked on then went off, but the cruise did not engage. And know its back to the cruise light not even blinking.

I did the self test and I am not getting any error codes, however i have not observed the servo do the dynamic test part yet, will do that in the morning when i can get someone else to do the test while i watch.

So do you guys have any other suggestions on what it may be, or what else to check?

Check to see if the recall-installed fuse link has blown or if the SCDS has failed (open).

had the Same type thing happen to mine it was the servo under the hood water got in it (had a bad seal) and rusted it up. I just bought a new one it was like $125.00 at the dealer (Useing good buddy deal)..you dont need anyone during the dynamic test if you dont see your gas pedal move the servo is not moving

Follow the cable into the servo and remove the cable by turning the retaner and see if it is rusty inside

Speed Control quick test

Speed Control Disconnect switch, the one that prompted the recall in the first place. If it or its newly added fuse opens, the servo looses power, a vastly more common failure that the servo itself.

Quickest way to test requires a paper clip and a zip tie. Unplug the recall harness from the OEM wiring harness. Insert the opened paper clip into the pins of the OEM harness connector. Use the zip tie to secure the connector so it won't fall down and either short to anything or to allow the clip to fall out.

Now, with the switch bypassed, either run the self-test or take the vehicle for a test drive and see if the cruise now works.

All right guys, the gas pedal is not moving at the end of the self test...

Looking under the hood, I have a little brake fluid leaking from the "deactivation switch". And according to another search i did i should replace it with new switch.

Sounds right, what do you guys think?

All right guys, thanks for your help, it was the switch...And an easy fix at that.

For the search feature:
If your cruise control is not working and your not getting any error codes with the self test AND the pedal is NOT moving at the end of the test...Check the Speed Control Deactivation Switch (the plug coming out of the Brake Cylinder going to the servo), if its leaking brake fluid its bad...a $15 part from your dealer and an easy fix, unscrew the old and screw in the new.

okay, so it's where the harness plugs in right outside the brake cylinder? I had brake fluid on top of the plug the other day so I unplugged it to look under it and there was brake fluid in there also. So does this mean it is the switch?
