Instrument cluster and DRL not working??

I've got a 98f150 with the v6 4.2 in it. One day I parked it in my driveway and that night when I went to drive somewhere and the panel didn't light up. the low fuel light comes on and the seat belt warning light and all those lights are working. my headlights, high beams, blinkers and break lights all work too. all the fuses are in good shape, none blown... so I'm thinking its a short somewhere...

anyone know where to start looking?

Well I think I am in the same boat.No dash lights, tailights or parking lights.I read it could be a headlight switch but have not found out for sure yet.Want to get someones thoughs first as they are like $150 bucks, since mine has fog lights and auto lights.

Well I am thinking it is my switch more because my radio lights up as I can see the time on it, but it won't dim with the switch, also I only have head lights when I turn on my switch no taillights. or parking lights.I remember my Dakota did the same thing just about, but I only had parking light and not headlights, but the switch was only $10 buck not $150 crap.

I found a fuse thats blown, and it keeps blowing... I think your right about it being the switch... and idea how to take the switch panel off without breaking it?

Yea, you have to turn the switch so the headlights are on and pull it out, then you need a very small flat screwdriver and put up in the slot, to remove the ****, then turn the know 180 Degrees and put **** back on, the turn **** counter clockwise and pull the switch out of the dash. The switch is like over $150 most places, but is depends on if you have fog lights and auto lights too.I picked up a switch a a local Pick A Part today, but did not have auto lights on it, to try and swap them, but found the fuse blown. So I am back up and running.I also read somewhere that someone had a broken vanity wire on there sun visor and that caused a short to keep blowing the fuse too
